Larousse Gastronomique is an encyclopaedia of gastronomy. The majority of the book is about French cuisine, and contains recipes for French dishes and cooking techniques, as well as information about wine. The first edition included few non-French dishes and ingredients; later editions include many more. The book was originally published by Éditions Larousse in Paris in 1938. For sale here is the First American edition published by Crown Publishers Inc 1961, in the English language.
Condition: with some wear to the blue cloth covers, the dustjacket with tears and creasing, but present. The inside of the book is quite clean, with a crack on the inside between the cover and first page. 1101 pages.
