One-of-a-kind hand made and hand painted pedestal planter/vase from renowned and award winning Canadian artist Laurie Rolland. Here's Laurie's comments on the piece: "The piece you have is probably from the eighties when I was using a lot of colour in my work. To achieve the pink and green I have used coloured slips made with commercial stains and applied them by brush and a slip trailer. For the foot and top rim I have used a technique called sgraffito, drawing through the slip to the clay body below. I am investigating form and colour in this piece. It is fired in an electric kiln and is thrown with a mid temperature porcelaineous stoneware clay. I hope you enjoy it as I think it is 'light and bright and sparkling'". Signed by the artist, this original piece is a worthy accent in your home, or as a gift. Excellent condition without chips or cracks. Height is 5 3/4" and diameter is 6 1/2".
