Sandra Angelozzi is the creative director of Quebec ready-to-wear brand Femme de carrière, which specializes in suits and pantsuits. She began working there in 1978 as an intern. Founded in 1976 by Albert and Charles Dayan, the company was originally called Arpège before the name was changed in 1980. Sandra Angelozzi’s interest in fashion dates back to her childhood. The daughter of a press operator and a dressmaker, she began working in clothing factories at the age of 11, notably for Dee Dee Knit, Adorable Junior, Tricot d’Or, Venus Knitting and Abbey Ties. In 1974, she took a patternmaking course in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated in fashion design from Montreal’s LaSalle College in 1978. Sandra Angelozzi has been designing clothing for Femme de carrière since 1996, two years after it made a major shift. The company previously distributed its products in department stores like Eaton’s, The Bay and Holt Renfrew, but in 1994 it became a manufacturer/retailer. Since then, the collections designed by Sandra Angelozzi are sold exclusively via the company’s e-commerce site and its network of branded stores in Quebec, Ontario and Calgary. The Femme de carrière head office is located on Montreal’s Chabanel Street.
