Limoges Collector Plate Colette Women of the Century

Beautiful handmade collector plate by D'Arceau-Limoges from the "Les Femmes du Siecle - 1890" (Women of the Century) collection . The plate depicts Colette, the sporty woman, in a winter sports scene. Text on back reads: "Fière et légère dans sa tenue de sport ajusteé, apparait Colette a la conquête de son indépendance." Translates loosely as: Proud and light in her fitted sportswear, Colette appears in search of her independence." Plate number CW 032, marked with the official emblem for International Women's Year, and sponsorship by the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Approx. 8 1/4 inch in diameter. Excellent condition - no cracks, chips or crazing.
