@ginkocins I own a lot of LV pieces and I’m sorry but this isn’t real.

@ginkocins I’m really sorry if someone sold this to you saying it’s real. Some giveaways as I have the same bag but authentic.
- The Louis Vuitton Paris leather tab was what I noticed first
- the pocket inside that you took a photo of
- the DE pattern isn’t aligned
- the Louis Vuitton within the pattern is very hard to read
- the leather on the bag should not look like that

The stitching on the handle attachments is a dead giveaway. Louis Vuitton is very specific about how many stitches go into their bags. A 1:1 usually gets this right. This is not close.

Many people need to research the differences between vintage and modern-day Louis Vuitton bags before assuming one isn’t authentic. This particular bag was highly sought after in its time and was originally purchased for £165 — a price that reflects its era, not today’s market value.”

Research Always
In the ’80s, bags were almost exclusively made in France, though some began being produced in Spain and USA near the end of the decade. Today, they’re made in France, Spain, USA, Italy, and Switzerland.

Zippers and other hardware in the 1980s were usually brass and would tarnish over time (giving a vintage gold look).
• Modern bags tend to have coated or treated metal to resist tarnish, though LV still uses high-quality brass for most pieces.

Logos, stitching, and alignment were always precise, but early ’80s bags might show more hand-assembled character, compared to the ultra-consistent factory perfection of modern ones.
