hi!! this is the first time i have ever used this app..so might take me a bit to figure out the whole pix thing!! i will get some out to you right away!
jdegrassi
@wasacasejacqui be careful people asking for pictures off poshmark are scamming. best to only do transactions on posh!
wasacasejacqui
@jdegrassi thank you!!! i am not sure how to navigate this site at all!!! someone just said they sent me money and gave me a link..scared to open it!!!
kristinakenn590
@wasacasejacqui DONT OPEN IT!!!!! They say they’ve paid but it doesn’t register on Poshmark. It asks for your bank login info. Then they use it to empty your account. Don’t respond to requests for text/email. They’re all scammers trying to lure you off the app. Delete the email.

thank you!!! i have had 2 people do this so far!! one actually sent me a link to an email for customer support..saying that she tried to pay but it declined...did not use that link!! wow..who knew? that is so crazy! thank you so much for the heads up!!!

@wasacasejacqui no problem. Poshmark would never send you an email about fixing someone else’s payment info. That would be something the buyer would have to fix on their end. These ppl just get bolder and bolder. They have no shame. Poshmark is to blame as well. This doesn’t happen on Vestaire, 1st dibs, or real real. It’s because Poshmark doesn’t authenticate items under $700. It attracts all sorts of scammers…

@wasacasejacqui be careful there’s another one for buyers. There’s a lot of accounts popping up with 1 luxury handbag. It’s priced really low and they offer a “discount” or sale off Poshmark. So it seems like it’s authentic due to the price. But then they send an offer for under $700. So it doesn’t get authenticated. If you’re buying anything under $700 just assume it’s not authentic.

@wasacasejacqui you should also check seller ratings…if they have a lot of positive feedback they’re generally safe to buy from. You can find the love notes on their profile. Just giving you the helpful tips I wish someone had given me! 😊

omg thank you!!! this is the first time i have ever posted on here..and wow..it might be the last!!! is there community page to post the names of the ones who are potentially scamming? my husband is totally freaked and convinced that they are going to hack into all our stuff 😳 😆

i guess it would be a no-brainer that if someone tells me to go their bio to send email pix..or to text them pix that it might not be kosher. i feel a little like i should have caught those too!!
kristinakenn590
@wasacasejacqui I think as long as you don’t open the email or click the link they can’t do that. It’s fine once you’ve been doing it a while. The scammers target new Poshers because ppl who have been doing it forever know not to give them an email. Just don’t respond to anymore ppl regarding email/text and it should stop.
kristinakenn590
@wasacasejacqui I almost fell for the same thing! Many ppl have actually done it and had all their money stolen. The scammers do it because it works. Don’t feel bad they target ppl who have less experience for a reason. Really Poshmark should be doing more to prevent this from happening. We all know the scammers aren’t going to stop. They need to create better awareness!!!

i agree!! do people complain to the customer support thing? i am so going to!! i also think i will figure out how to screen shot the fake customer service email and the fake account thing and post it on here..i am assuming that the first 2 posters on this thread have changed their user names lol!!!
kristinakenn590
@wasacasejacqui you can actually make “warnings” into listings just like when you sell something…you use the photo as the cover photo and put the info in the description. It’s a good idea as I’ve never heard the customer service one before. Clearly their scams are getting more complex. Likely because most ppl know about the email one.

@wasacasejacqui you can report the comment by clicking the little “flag” on their comment that’s under the text. There are multiple options as to why you’re reporting them, you click “spam”. You can also click their name and go to their profile and report them there as well.
kristinakenn590
@wasacasejacqui on their profile you click the three dots at the top right corner and it’ll say “report”. It will also have options you can click “spam” as well as “transactions off Poshmark”. That way their actual account gets shut down.

@wasacasejacqui no problem! Your shoes are gorgeous I’m sure they’ll sell to a real buyer. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Happy Poshing 😊😊😊
