Luxor Trinket Box

This is a vintage Luxor trinket box. Made of Bakelite or celluloid, an early form of plastic from the Art Deco period. The box has a two-tone design, with a brown base and a cream-colored lid featuring an embossed, scrolling acanthus leaf design. These boxes were typically used for holding jewelry, powder, or other small trinkets. Luxor Ltd. of Chicago, which was active from 1915-1948, manufactured these boxes.
