MAD magazine édition Québec Vol. No. 1

MAD Magazine #1, May 1991, Quebec Edition. Mad Magazine in French. This is the premiere issue from the short-lived, 12 issue French-Canadian version of MAD Magazine. This is an original cover that was not published in the U.S. MAD edition. The cover features Alfred E. Neuman as a hockey player with the Quebec Nordiques facing off with Montreal Canadien's Guy Carbonneau. Note that Alfred has a golf club in his hands and he's wearing golf shoes. This issue is in very good condition although there is some limited wear around the binding staple as shown but nothing major. 50 pages long with no writing and no loose or missing pages. The spine is solid with no splitting and this issue lays flat. Translated entirely in the French language, there are the usual MAD features included in this issue: Two MAD movie parodies: "Beauty and the Beast" and "Total Recall", Al Jaffee's Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions, Dave Berg's Lighter Side of..., plus Jack Davis, Mort Drucker, Sergio Aragones, Don Martin, Don 'Duck' Edwing, Harry North and Bob Jones, as well as some original French-Canadian material. This hard-to-find International MAD would make a nice addition for any MAD Magazine collection!
