Directed by Penny Marshall, the film stars Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell & Lori Petty. In 2012 it was selected for preservation in the US National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
