joans5 @annieree Hey Annie, great to hear from you. I think of you both often and pray that all is well. We are all doing great. Josh continues to do remarkably well. He had a biopsy in January so we have some answers. The pathology came back with good news. He has a grade 2 brain stem glioma which means cancer, but slow growing. The samples have been sent to CA. It is there they will devise a series of drug therapies to hopefully beat this thing. So prayers are being heard.

It's so far been controlled by meds...then had breast cancer in 2010! I'm still alive and kicking and thankful for everyday. It's even worse if it's your child! As rare as this disease is, once you are part of this community, it truly feels like there are too many children who have suffered. Thank you for your sentiments. I believe everything happens for a reason, so finding me was inevitable. Our children having brain cancer doesn't make sense, but each day we work on acceptance, right? My son is even a more rare case since he was diagnosed at 22. He's 1 of only 100 adults.

joans5 Next month marks 2 years since he has had symptoms so we are witnessing a miracle. So, have you heard of The Cure Starts Now Foundation? We raise funds for DIPG research to find a cure. When you are ready, you might want to look into it. Most of the 33 chapters are run by families that have lost a young child. I got to meet most of them in May. It was life changing.
