MID-CENTURY POTTERY DISH - SYLVAC

This is a 1950’s vintage pottery dish from Sylvac, a well-known English firm that has been producing ornamental pottery since 1894. The dish is roughly oval in shape, with a pleated or frilled design finished with a heavy pale pink glaze. One end has a modelled floral decoration in a darker rose-pink color with dark green leaves. The dish is a little over 6 inches long and 5 1/2 inches at the widest, and is in excellent condition, without cracks, chips, scratches, stains, or any other damage or defect. It does show a fine crackle under the glaze, but this is normal in ceramics of this age, and is not considered a defect. Marked as shown. Charming!
