This stunning hand-carved white marble Indian elephant statue is decorated with an intricate pattern of flowers and vines that have been hand-cut and inlaid in the marble. A piece of this size takes an artist weeks of detailed cutting, assembly and polishing. The inlay work features delicate lotus & jasmine floral designs made with Lapis Lazuli, Mother of Pearl and Abalone shell. What makes this piece particularly unique are the beautifully-framed eyelids - a rare feature in an animal statue of this size.
