A gold toned metal brooch marked BOUCHER 7456 shaped like a leprechaun or Elf, with (faux) turquoise blue beads for eyes and holding a (faux) pearl. Very cute and great for the holidays!
Marcel Boucher (1898–1965) was a Parisian jewelry designer who moved to the USA in 1925. He worked for Cartier in the 1920s and for Mazer Brothers and Trifari in the 1930s before establishing his own costume jewellery business in 1937 with 12 brooches, a line bought by Saks.
Dates ca 1950s.
Condition: Good with small signs of wear and age. The pin to the back is straight and the brooch closes securely.
