Vintage 1960s Marika Design Handmade Wool Coatigan – Nubby Pastel Weave, Lace Trim, Gold Buttons
A beautifully crafted early 1960s coatigan by Marika Design, combining the cozy ease of a cardigan with the structure of a coat. Handwoven in a nubby wool boucle — a richly textured, almost popcorn-like weave — it features a soft mix of sage, sand, caramel, and pale blue yarns that blend into a gentle tweed-like pattern.
Fully lined in champagne satin, with delicate lace trimming along the inner seams, this piece showcases the feminine detailing and quality craftsmanship typical of boutique mid-century design. The front fastens with a striking set of geometric gold-tone buttons that add sculptural glamour to the soft silhouette.
With a pit-to-pit of 27 inches and length of 32.5 inches, this coatigan fits most comfortably as a modern women’s XL (US 14–16), designed to drape loosely and elegantly over layers. Two front pockets and gently rounded sleeves complete the look.
One small note: the bottom button is missing, but the remaining buttons (nine in total) maintain the overall aesthetic perfectly.
Measurements:
Pit to pit: 27”
Length: 32.5”
Sleeve: 21”
A timeless, hand-finished statement piece — soft, romantic, and distinctly 1960s in charm and craftsmanship.
✨ Perfect for collectors of mid-century handmade fashion or anyone drawn to slow-made vintage beauty. One button has a white string that f cotton instead of the wool original.
