Description 🌹 The first of eight Mother Goose collectible plates by artist John McClelland. This plate, released in 1979, is an illustration for the nursery rhyme "Mary, Mary". Demure and appealing, the little stands in a deliberate pose, conscious perhaps of the delightful she presents in her oversized bonnet, matching gown, lacetrimmed pinafore, and long, green ribbon bowed at the neck. She seems in fact an almost ideal child as she smiles at us with friendly innocence from the lush confines of her garden.
