Mayan King Pakal of Palenque Aluminum Stand

An aluminum depiction of the coronation of the Mayan Ajaw Pakal, king of Palenque. The king is sitting down with what look to be a jaguar and a dog facing different directions beneath him. Someone, presumably a deity or priest, holds a crown (in this case a headdress) that he is about to place on Pakal's head. The piece is 8 3/4" tall and its base is 6 1/2" wide by 2 1/8" in depth.
