Hi there! I'm new to Posh, but absolutely love the concept and community. I'm a SoCal native, who loves the beach, sun, and the outdoors. I also happen to love style, of which mine constantly evolves! Hope you enjoy my closet!

Hi :) Thanks for all your kind shares! I also hail from SoCal, and will be returning next year -- which part of SoCal are you in?
mhehlodie
@jabberwocky You're welcome! I love your closet, and the way you stylize everything! I think I wrote this intro a few years ago, and at the time I was living in San Diego. I'm actually from LA (Torrance). I've since relocated back to DC. (I think I was very active here when I was cleaning out my closet in preparation for my move.) What part of SoCal are you heading toward?
jabberwocky
Ahhh, it's a small, small world, then. I'm actually headed towards San Diego! If you have any tips about where to live, I would love to hear your take. I just visited this past weekend and am dying to move there. Believe it or not, I grew up in Orange County but never ever had ventured south to SD while I lived there, making my past visit my first.
jabberwocky
How are you enjoying being back in DC? I spent a summer there and was quite enamored with being there :)
mhehlodie
@jabberwocky I guess everyone has different preferences, but I lived in East Village and then also in Gaslamp, very close by to Seaport Village. I liked living in both places, they each had their pros/cons. (For context, I was commuting to Point Loma.) And looking back, I don't think I would have lived in any other neighborhood (other than Little Italy, which is very close to Gaslamp anyway).
mhehlodie
the only exception is if you have a really strong inclination toward buying a single family house, then that would be a very different answer.
mhehlodie
San Diego is great, and esp if you have family in OC. My sister moved to OC shortly before I left SD! Oh, the irony. But one of the best things of living in SD, (beside the tacos) was being about to commute home to LA/OC fairly often.
jabberwocky
You are not the first person who said they lived in Gaslamp but would have also wanted to live in Little Italy :) All signs point to that area, for me--I would be working right in between Gaslamp and Little Italy, so your recommendations just cement the fact that I should be looking there. Did you ever consider anything near OB? My significant other is somewhat enamored with the idea of being by the ocean . . . haha.
mhehlodie
DC is <3. I like the professional climate, the more approachable city life, the accessibility of other large metro areas, the history, etcetcetc.
mhehlodie
I did look around OB a little. It's definitely more free spirited there... The bars are cheaper and I think the main street there was very reminiscent of Telegraph Ave in Berkeley...
mhehlodie
If I did want to go to the beach in SD, I would take the effort to drive north to La Jolla or Solana Beach. You're close by to the water in Gaslamp. Almost regularly, I would walk along the water from Seaport and nearby the convention center.
mhehlodie
Oh, also clarification, I don't know if I would have necessarily chosen Little Italy over Gaslamp. Little Italy is a little ritzy for me. Some happy hours there I felt lost amongst the overly maintained ladies there. I do really like the farmer's market on Satudays though.
mhehlodie
@jabberwocky Forgot to tag you.
jabberwocky
I couldn't help but share your suggestions about beachside living with my S.O. He took that as a sign that he has a chance of cajoling me to live further from work and closer to the water . . . haha.
jabberwocky
Also, your description of Little Italy's "overly-maintained" denizens is so well-put and hilarious! Yeah, I think that area might be a little too ritzy for both my soul & my pocketbook, so Gaslamp might end up being where I go.
mhehlodie
@jabberwocky maybe consider PB then. Awesome tacos and beach living, with a reasonable commute. I hate driving though, so the beach prob wouldn’t shake me from downtown. Good luck! And let me know if you would like to know anything else! So excited for you!

Hi, I guess you are busy and do not have time to respond to comments. I had sent you an offer on the Via Spiga boots and you did not accept or counter. I see the boots have been listed for a while, just trying to purchase. Oh well, thank you for your consideration.
mhehlodie
@raven572 that is incorrect, I declined your offer. And sometimes, I do not respond to comments within 12 hours.
raven572
Hi Melody, not sure if you would want to sell me the Via Spiga Boots. I would like to make an offer of $55, just not sure if you want me as a buyer. I do apologize if I came off being pushy.
raven572
Thank you
raven572
