myclosetproject Good morning Ellen! I purchased your Donald Pliner FiFi sandal wedges recently and wore them for the first time yesterday. They absolutely disintegrated! That was the first and only time I wore them too… The sole on the left shoe completely came off, and on the right side, the wedge cracked. It is so weird because I am not hard on shoes at all, and I have several Donald Pliner shoes. Wondering...where did you purchase them? And do you by any chance still have the receipt?

mintmoonshoppe @myclosetproject hi there, they were purchased a couple of years ago, and I have no receipt. They are shoes out of my personal closet. I have worn them a fair amount but never had any trouble. I just don’t like platform shoes which was the reason I was selling them. This is really shocking because I always found them sturdy and comfortable and well made like other DJP shoes I’ve owned in the past. Was the box damaged? I’m wondering if something may have happened during shipping.

The whole bottom platform fell off as I was walking with them on yesterday. And the right shoe has a huge crack in the platform. Did you purchase them at a DJP store ?

I’m wondering if they were counterfeit because there is no way that authentic DJP shoes would just disintegrate like that. Not your fault, I’m just wondering if that could be the case. I bought them for myself and decided to resell so I remember then being more pricey. It’s so weird because I’ve never heard of fake DJPs and they were sturdy when I wore them. Sorry again about your experience though.

Others can sit forever and eventually sell low. Most of it comes down to style and size. I’ll find some incredible pieces that are tiny and most people just can’t fit into them making it harder to sell. Vintage that matches current styles normally do well! It’s a bit of a hit or miss game but it’s something I love and sounds like you do too!
