Doctors told Mommy and Daddy I wouldn't even be born because I had a broken heart and Down syndrome. SURPRISE!!! Here I am! I have Down syndrome (so?) & I had my heart fixed when I was 5 months old. They fixed it really well...I'm 8 now!

People who knew about Sarah's prenatal diagnoses didn't know what to say...the coolest thing to say is "Congrats...you've been gifted with an Angel...!" She makes so many people smile...you should see her in action...in Hawaii, of course... Anyway, glad to hear that your daughter is doing well and living a happy, productive life! Aloha for now...

I haven't been to Hawaii since before she was born, so she has never been there! We talk about it a lot, of course... I did a great deal of research before she was born, and found information that said that eventually the disability disappears into the background, and the child is just your kid. I forget sometimes...the hardest part with Sarah was the heart diagnosis. I took care of her 24/7 for her first 5 months as her heart function declined. Now THAT was difficult. I didn't realize how difficult those 5 months really were until the surgery team took her out of my arms to open her up and rebuild her heart (which was about the size of a quarter). It was out of my hands at that point. I was unexpectedly relieved and scared at the same time...and for good reason; it took the ("12 year old") surgeon 8 hours with no breaks to fix her up. After the surgery, the (not really 12 year old) surgeon said that her heart was worse than they thought, and that she wouldn't have made it much longer...! Well, as you can see, she is thriving! Not a day goes by without my acknowledgement and gratitude to to the surgeon and his team for saving Sarah's life. 💝

I have a 6yr old son, name's Nikko and he suffers from Dravet Syndrome- a rare catastrophic form of epilepsy where he suffers from many different seizures at one time. He is developmentally delayed, no-speech and walks in his gait trainer! Other than all the above, he is one precious, happy-go-lucky boy!😍😜

Yes, Sarah sure seems to be on a mission...even the day she was born, WHILE she was being partially resuscitated, she KICKED the Dr. while he was trying desperately save her life! I think she thought that all the machinery, tubes, etc. and all that nonsense was just not necessary...as far as she was concerned, she was doing JUST FINE, thank you very much...hasn't changed a bit!

Now that I have made the decisions, I'm apparently not "allowed" to purchase or comment...I hope this is a quirk or some other explanation...we're still newbies on this site and doing our best to get used to the new system. My heart sank, as I'm trying very hard to follow the rules, etc. I hope this can be resolved...very sad if not, as I only have good intentions...

And she was literally "heartwarmed;" after her heart surgery, she was on a cooling pad to keep her fever down...but then she got too cold, and her life-saving surgeon nearly flipped when he saw her low temperature...boy did they warm her up fast! As you can see, she is doing just fine now...she does run a bit warm, come to think of it...

My favorite person ever is my cousin Kurt. He was born with downs and has been a BRIGHT lite on Earth. Of course I love my son like crazy- but downs children are always so untouched, so innocent ! He calls me Monkey-I don't know why but he always has-it was actually one of his first words! I truly believe that downs children are the angels in heaven. Your Princess is one of the chosen ones! How lucky you are! Oh btw they said Kurtie would not live past 10. He is 25 now! Thank you Jesus!!! 💋💋💋

Her middle name is Grace after my Grandmother, and yes, she was born on a Sunday...as they say "Sunday's child is full of Grace." Interestingly, she was induced on a Friday because of her heart condition, and she refused to enter the world until SUNDAY! Her prenatal name was originally "Angel Grace" when we thought she wasn't going to make it. When it looked like she was going to pull through, we started calling her "Sarah" after Sarah McLachlan and her famous Angel song. Sarah and I now sing Amazing Grace with an added round dedicated to our Sarah. 😇👧❤️ She also loves to watch and sing with Sarah McLachlan's Angel video...she knows a few of the words, but mostly makes up her own language every time! Yes, Sarah has quite the personality...and a pretty clear plan to carry out...we can hardly keep up with her! Glad to know that her Posh Presence is inspiring to others! 💞😇👧🌷

@brittybritt6 We'll be posting a few items (or Sarah photos) each day...it's hard to get much done with Little Miss Interested getting into everything! She just finished taking trash out of a small garbage can (twice), turning it over, and using it as a drum. Luckily it wasn't very full, but she has to put all the garbage back in...each time...anything to keep her amused and learning!

That is the sweetest thing I have ever read. God has plans for all his creations and souls. She is going to have a amazing life and is so lucky to have amazing parents given to her. I almost lost my son and he almost lost me at childbirth, but again, it shows how amazing God's plans for us are and how lucky we are to be in this world, to get to hold our babies as they grow, and even at the greatest oppositions, someone is there watching over us saying we can do it.

I have had six miscarriages and countless disappointing months over the past 20 years. What's meant to be is meant to be. @jennerator26 Your daughter is a precious Gift from God. I had two cousins that were "Special Angels". My dad told me from the time I was little. How God had "Special Angels" like my cousins and how special their parents were to God. How he had a very special place in Heaven for them. When is see your daughter's beaming smile. I don't see her disabilities, I see all the possibilities there out there for her. Her smile just brightened my really bad day.

We ordered a princess cake...she was so surprised when her daddy showed up at school to drop it off! So, she had a great day...so far!

@vanyataycoon I've seen some Statue of Liberty costumes that looked ok...but not exactly classy. I did find one company online that has a kid's medium and adult one size (I told her that I'd try to match her)...I suppose they'll do...but if you happen to see any "decent" outfits, yes please let me know (something tells me that you will know "decent" from "junk")! And the torch seems to be problematic...the ones I've found online that that light up seem to have paint that chips off...ugh!

What a beautiful story! Isn’t it funny the things that the doctors think they know sometimes. At 20 I was told after surgery I’d likely never have children and not even 6 months later and even on birth control I was pregnant and had my son who is now 12, and my daughter is 7 years old. Both x’s on birth control, not supposed to be able to even have children- I thank the lord every day! Princess Sarah is in our thoughts and prayers too, you definitely are a princess 👸 what a perfect name!

Unfortunately Medicare will not pay for all the medications that I need, they are not on their schedule of medications that they will pay for. Nor will they pay for the surgery that I need on my neck since it is a pre-existing condition. I will not become a burden to my family. You would need to contact the Department of Aging & Disabilities Resource Center in Florida...have you done that or heard of anything like that?
