Hello Fellow Poshers!!! I'm a 33-year-old Mommy and Wife living in WV. I'm a recent transplant from Northern California, and have had to do a major closet overhaul to sync with the fickle weather of the Appalachians! I work part-time in the Learning Center at Wesleyan College, and the rest of the time I'm playing with my two-year old son or enjoying some rare moment of aloneness with my husband! I actually joined Posh when I found out I was pregnant with my son, to purge my closet. Well, I've built a steady addiction to Posh and made my clothing habit cost-neutral to keep my husband happy! Airy a couple of times and I have a dear friend that just moved here to WV from Mt. Airy. I'm hoping I can coerce my husband into moving your way in a few years. Somewhere more temperate would be nice!

secondlovedco @easytiger83 😁 Only problem with Mount Airy is that the city is relying on Andy Griffith to bring them tourists, which they think brings in revenue. Pretty much all the textiles have left Mount Airy, leaving hardly any employment. The only thing that keeps up here is the fact that my husband is a pastor- it's a mix of dedication & sacrifice but we make it because of God!

Plus, if you are 100% Posh compliant (abide by all the rules) you can become a Suggested User. That helps you get more followers! 👍🏻

easytiger83 @247mommieto3 - 😞 I've heard that about Mount Airy! Stilly relying on ol' Andy Griffith! But it is SO beautiful there! WV is gorgeous, but very similar with industry. We moved here from CA two years ago and it took my husband six months to find a good job and he commutes over two hours daily. However, we have learned to rely on God and renew our faith since moving back. We had both lost our way through our 20's. What denomination are you?

easytiger83 @247mommieto3 - I've attended Apostolic Pentecostal and of course, Assemblies is Pentecostal. We attend a Mission church now that is pretty comparable; very Holy Spirit driven. Thanks so much for the advice! I will work on my cover photos and stop trading all together. I very, very rarely trade now, but still do from time- to-time.

secondlovedco @easytiger83 Trading is not prohibited by Poshmark but definitely something to do with caution. I've heard a lot of things going wrong with trades that partially why I choose not to.

I have great ratings and feedback, but have never had a listing chosen as a host pick and never gotten a preferred posher title. I have gotten "mentor posher", but I would love to have a recommended closet.

secondlovedco @easytiger83 I'll help you the most I can to get a Suggested User title and get your closet running top notch (which = more sales 👍🏻). I wanted to pass along that if you don't have a dress form, or a mannequin, I'd suggest a clean white background to lay your item on in a well-lit area (preferably near a window) so you will be able to get the clearest pic of the item.

secondlovedco @easytiger83 Also, I've found that using filters are useless, but manually adjusting/editing the brightness of your photo works better 👍🏻 When you get everything the way you want in your closet, send an email to su@poshmark.com to let them know that you are interested in becoming a suggested user!

secondlovedco @easytiger83 All you need is: 1.) At least 3 successful sales under your belt 2.) a posh compliant closet with at least 25 available listings 3.) must be a user for a minimum of 3 months 4.) have clear, bright covershots I'll tag you in a listing to show you what they look for!

I've seen them for a reasonable price on Amazon, so maybe I'll request one for my birthday! I try to have uniformity in my photos too, but have been using the wood floor! Ha. It's clean, but still not the best.

secondlovedco @easytiger83 Have you tried a white dresser top, or even a white cardboard? You can dress up you item with suggested jewelry pieces or even a nice pair of shoes! You can get crafty and not even have to buy a mannequin!

secondlovedco Try just a large white cardboard (they sell them for projects. Or you can even hang your item attractively on a clothes hanger and display it on a white/ plain wall! Just as long as you do not have too much competition going on between the item and the background 😁
