I think if you are going to spend that much on a pair of Loubs for your wedding day it's worth it to buy an authentic pair and keep them forever as a reminder of your wedding :)

ares55 @livecleanamanda I don't think it's worth it to buy fake Loubs, they really don't have any value. I think glitter or strass Loubs would be perfect for your wedding day. Glitter coats much less, but strass is the design of the pair you were looking at.

Please tell your friends to use SwitchVault.com to trade, it is a fail proof way to make sure you get the right item and you don't get scammed.

File online with the USPS fraud department tonight. Please don't trade any more high value items until SwitchVault has launched their website, they are the only way to prevent getting scammed.

kleineente @ares55 I've been looking to buy a Chanel Boy Enchained bag and keep seeing them listed as XL size online. Even on seemingly legit sites like the RealReal, but when I called Chanel, they gave me the dimensions of their largest Boy bag and they didn't match up. As a Chanel follower and expert, any advice where I can find a real one since it's out of production?

ares55 @kleineente I think the issue you are having is that the Boy bags have been made in two different styling cycles and their dimensions have changed. I believe the initial design used to be bigger than the current design, so if you are seeing a discontinued bag with different dimensions than a bag currently in stores, it's because of the older vs. newer sizing.

ares55 @kleineente TheRealReal is a legitimate business and they inspect all their bags for authenticity before they sell them. They have had great success as a female founded startup because they pick up items from sellers, authenticate them, then list them with around a 40% take from the seller. Not great for sellers, but good of a buyer wants guaranteed authenticity.

kleineente @ares55 Thank you for the info. The girl from Chanel customer care didn't tell me about the different sizing runs. So that makes sense. Still nervous about reselling sites. I have been researching Chanel and heard about the 'super fakes' on the market that they say even experts can't tell the difference. Maybe I should give up on the Boy Enchained and set my heart on one of the new Fall collection. Or maybe I will try the Real Real after all.

ares55 @kleineente The super fakes are scary only when you are buying online from someone that can't authenticate it, for instance you can only see photos of a bag before you buy it. Super fakes are easy to spot in person because even the best counterfeiters can't get every detail with them right. If you want the Boy chain bag, I would feel comfortable buying from TheRealReal. I would avoid Tradesy or places that don't authenticate.

ares55 @jgajewski I would go with your gut and send it back right away. You should contact posh and tell them you think it's fake and ask to send it to them for a return. Don't pay for authentication from them just ask if you can send it to them.

oughttobehaute @ares55 sounds similar about well versed life, and amazing jobs and people, experienced! I make sure to use a notary when I send, so that photos if item are what is shipped at time! I had the first murakami and LV itwo items wait listed. One I sold, a collectors piece, got a cheap knock of back. Days I of eBay. Even a top Bev hills consignment shop listed prices before I could reject.

Basically, both of you just ship the items to me, I photograph them for you guys to make sure it is what the other person says it is and not an empty package or something, then once you both approve the items I ship them to each of you at the same time. If you want to have me escrow the trade I'll waive the fees in exchange for a Yelp review!

ares55 @shari527 Either way, don't trade until you have verified the other persons identity and made sure they are a real person living at the shipping address. Lots of scammers have stolen ID's and ship items to empty/for sale houses near them so they can't be found afterwards. Also, be very careful of anyone that wants you to ship to the Bronx, NY, there's a scam ring there. Do some investigating!

ares55 @lovelyinlife Which style bag is it? I'd need photos of the front, back, both sides, bottom, inside, all zippers (close up), a close up of the stitching (preferably next to a ruler), all heat stamps on it and close ups of any name labels, and the serial number. ares55 @eriknkimmy Hi! I've been doing it for a few years now and turned it into an LLC business along with the secure escrow. I do suggest that you get your Hermes authenticated before you trade or sell it, if it is fake you can be sued, and the serial number on it is one of the most widely faked numbers.

ares55 @eriknkimmy Also, your Chanel bag does not appear to be authentic. I would be extremely careful trading it, you could end up in civil court for that even if you believe it to be real, a judge won't decide in your favor if you haven't exercised due diligence.

ares55 @eriknkimmy You received the Chanel from a trade? I would request that the person send you your original item back and you return this to them. Unfortunately, if they won't return your bag this is one of the instances where you would have to file a lawsuit. If it's interstate you would need their home address and have a process server serve them, if that's the route you'd like to take.

ares55 @eriknkimmy The fees for authentication are $25 and it includes documentation of the serial number, measurements of the bag, information about the production year to compare it to other bags, and photos. You'd have to pay all shipping fees and I don't require it but highly suggest using shipping insurance, but I do require signature confirmation at a minimum for any packages I accept for liability purposes.

ares55 @eriknkimmy How long ago did you purchase it? Was it through Posh? If so, I would tell them you purchased a non authentic bag and open a dispute to get your money back. If it was purchased through 🅿️ you can also open a dispute to get your money back or dispute the charges on your credit card if you paid that way.

ares55 @eriknkimmy Always google the serial number of any bag you're interested in buying or trading. A lot of counterfeit numbers will show up on the Internet, but some of the newer "super fake" serials won't. This bag has an obviously fake serial and the stitching on the bag is off. If Posh authenticated it it should not have passed inspection, but Posh uses a woman named Carol Diva to authenticate through photos and she is not good at authenticating.

ares55 @eriknkimmy I fully understand, that's why I always suggest bags are shipped with insurance or signature confirmation. FYI, even if you sell it through Posh and USPS loses your bag, Posh will not step in to help. This happened to one of my Chanel bags. If you ever sell anything valuable through mail, always use signature confirmation at a minimum! That way if anything is lost you have legal recourse with USPS.

ares55 @eriknkimmy Are you asking for an appraisal or for authentication? I generally do authentication but I can give you a ballpark market price for your bag based on its condition. Authenticate First is a legit source for authentication, but they're a bit pricy and very expensive for a hands on authentication. My fee is only $25 and I really prefer to do a hands on inspection with expensive bags, but I can do it through photos if that's what you want.

ares55 @eriknkimmy Right now I'm a bit more concerned with you getting refunded for your Chanel bag. It's not ok that you traded for or spent money on that bag believing it to be authentic, you should seek a refund or some type of recourse. The next time you buy a bag tag me in the listing and I'll look it over for you for free. It always helps to have a second opinion with big purchases.

ares55 @saracavey Nope! That's the amount of photos you're ordering for your item. For instance if you are buying a purse and you want to view only the front of it before you send the seller your money for it, you'd buy 1 photo. If you want to see all sides of it, you'd choose 5 photos. You are purchasing the amount of photos you want us to take for you :)

ares55 @saracavey For authentication of a bag you'd choose the authentication option and we photograph all sides of the bag, the serial, and provide a certificate of authenticity. We prefer have items shipped to us in person to authenticate them but we can authenticate through your own photos as well. Hope that helps!

ares55 @saracavey Ha ha, you can email me if you need more help :) Basically we act as security to make sure people are getting what they pay for, so you'll never end up buying shoes or something and having a scammer send you an empty box instead. It also works for sellers since a lot of buyers will wear something they bought then complain the item wasn't new and ask for a refund, etc.
