It took me a while to figure out what the best lighting was for me- my office does not have great overhead lighting so I use a ring light that I got from amazon. I also use the app Snapseed to lighten the background of my photos. Another great tool is the website remove.bg - it removes the background of any photo to give you that crisp white look.
