My dad's hometown is waist deep in water though and Houston and Rockport are disaster zones. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do besides give to the Red Cross and pray for them. You can't get down there really and the storm is returning to them. /:(

marlaray13 @aster1942 my experience has been better taking it to the post office. If you have something small to mail that fits in your mailbox, but isnt worth a ton of money, go for it. My neighborhood is generally pretty boring &crime free… Lots of old people who watch out their windows & stuff like that. But even here, we have had some theft off of porches in the past few years. I feel like it’s 99% fine to leave it in the mailbox but 100% sure to take it to the post office. 💕💗💕💗💕

Basically, I tried all sorts of different things initially, and spent quite a while using really bright or patterned backgrounds. What I figured out was a lot of times, those bright colors were causing shadows or reflections of something bright pink, for example, to end up on my item. (Cont....)

marlaray13 @stephintexas so what I’m doing now is taking photos, well lit, with only white posterboard, paper, or a sheet underneath and behind. I take it within the app “PicCollage.” Once you are in the app, and you have taken the photo, you can use the cut out tool to draw a circle or lines around your item. If there’s any missed places, you can use basically use like a shading tool to clean it up. Then, I like to tilt the picture I’ve made to the side, (cont.)

marlaray13 @stephintexas there’s a function where you can search for an image using Bing. I generally search for an image of the brand logo, and some sort of matching flowers. Flowers are my thing… :-) I use the “text“ function to add the name of the brand in the bottom left-hand corner, basically to catch the eye of people who are really just searching for brands. (Cont)

marlaray13 @stephintexas you can download the app for free, but, it’s better to buy the upgrade, since a watermark stays on the photos of the free app. It’s a lot of fun and you can do all sorts of things with it. Try it out and let me know what you think! It’s my favorite one so far. I like leaving a white background so that it doesn’t confuse the buyers. To me, it’s easier just to have the item for sale only pictured.

I live in Arlington now but my almost all of my family still lives in SS so I'm thru Greenville a lot. we used to shop at a couple of dress shops in downtown Greenville back in the day, I'd love to see your downtown make a com back!

The Calico Cat has turned into CC & co. and I just love their stuff. They have the expected things like Brighton and also the unexpected like Johnny Was! There’s an Italian bistro “Pizzo’s” along with lots of handmade things. It’s a fun visit!

Apparently, the label I sent it with was the one that had been canceled. So it never would show that it was tracking. I don’t know what in the world happened. I just figured they got lost. I sent messages to Poshmark about it.
