Hi! My name is Annmarie and I'm 24 years old currently living in Baton Rouge, LA. I moved here two years ago from Miami, FL to serve in an AmeriCorps program. I serve in a classroom peer mentoring under resourced students. Living on a stipend was tough & my dogs have needed surgery (tumor removal & knee surgery). All sales go towards my fur babies.
I live with my boyfriend, three cats and two dogs. Please excuse any stray pet hair that might make it into your package!

I lived in Baton Rouge as a kid! Now I'm working in fashion from home and running after kiddos in Vegas. How is AmeriCorps? It sounds like a great program!

@believebig that's pretty amazing! AmeriCorps is a large organization with a bunch of smaller volunteer programs within - like City Year. So City Year is a nonprofit education based programs where we peer mentor students in math and English in grades 3rd to 10th to help get them back on track and away from dropping out of high school. We dedicate a year to the program! We also did lots of community service events within Baton Rouge

@ahoyannmarie Awesome! What a fantastic contribution to the community. I spent a couple years in public school there and there were a lot of disparities. I know the city as a whole has grown a lot since I lived there and I hope the schools are improving. Are you done with AmeriCorps or doing another year?

@believebig some schools are improving but many still need improvement, which is why we come in to provide that extra support. I will be serving a second year with City Year/AmeriCorps in Baton Rouge and I'm so excited :)

@ahoyannmarie Just found your closet- wow was that a culture shock? I moved from San Diego to a rural town in GA and it was a major culture shock for me! Very cool that you chose to do Americorps- I was going to do Americorps too but then got into one of the MS programs I applied to so now I'm in GA :) Nice to meet you! Wishing you many sales!

@loveaclosetfind hi! I had visited Baton Rouge many times because my boyfriend lived here so it wasn't terrible when I moved but still a culture shock! I definitely miss the city at times! I hope you're doing amazing in your MS program and best of luck on Posh :)
