missionposhable Hi Molly! Welcome to Poshmark 🇨🇦! Thank you for the follow! My name is Janice and I’m a Poshmark ambassador. If you have any questions ask me or one of the other ambassadors. Happy poshing!

beaudandy @missionposhable Hi. I'm exited to get started here. What's a "Poshmark Ambassador"?
Aug 15Reply
missionposhable
missionposhable @beaudandy go to the main interface and double tap on @beaudandy at the bottom right side of the app on your phone. Or, on PC go to my stats. If you look at your Posh stats, you’ll see that your self shares, shares from others’ closets, shares of new poshers, sales etc are all tracked.

beaudandy @missionposhable Thank you so much! I had no idea it tracked sharing items from newcomers. That's really useful!

missionposhable For each metric, there is a minimum amount you need to be a posh ambassador. It doesn’t take very long... share lots from other closets, and if someone likes 2 or more items in your closet, bundle them together and offer them a discount. That helps the sales come in.

missionposhable The trick is to follow closets you like and share lots. Often they will share some items to their followers... then you will likely gain new followers! Each follower, check out their closet, share items if they have them... if not, leave a comment on their bio welcoming them to Poshmark 😊. Hope this helps! As a posh ambassador, you are suggested to new users as a closet more often, so there are some benefits.

missionposhable As you make sales, you balance will fill. You can send the money to your bank, or use it to buy Poshmark items. I suggest buying something from a long term seller with a high (stars /5) rating. They will likely wrap your order nicely and include a card, often a small gift 😊 (not always). That’s another metric - people rate the sale /5 stars when they get their order from you.

missionposhable You can “find” new poshers in the posh stars as well... search by cities. You can search close to you (reduces shipping time) or search towns where you know there may not be a ton of shopping options or consignment. Follow them, invite them to view your closet.

missionposhable It’s all a little time consuming at first... but if you find you enjoy refreshing your closet, or building a balance then transferring to your bank, the time is well spent. Depends how much you like looking at clothes I guess 😬. Let me know if you have other questions... sorry for the long ramble, but I hope this helps!

beaudandy @missionposhable Thank you so much! I've already been trying to share items I like or items I find fun. I'll definitely keep doing that. In your experience, are there items that don't do well here?

missionposhable @beaudandy I haven’t found a pattern yet... still trying to figure it out. 🧐 it sure seems to depend on the buyer... I think that some folks may have a couple different accounts, one for fancy stuff, one for workout stuff, one for home items etc. Others have everything in one closet. There’s stuff I never expected to sell, but sold. Other stuff I thought was amazing... sitting in my closet for a tiny price considering what I paid (lol) and it doesn’t sell.

beaudandy @missionposhable Hi Janice. In your experience, what's the average window for things to sell? Even with shops that have dozens of items sold by people doing Poshmark professionally, I don't see a ton of movement.

missionposhable @beaudandy that’s a great question! Part of it seems to depend on your market, otherwise known as your followers. If they are the buying types... meaning they are coming to PM specifically to buy, or mostly to sell. I was at first only buying... once I began selling, I had about 1k followers, & sold 3-5 items per week, in 2 bundles. Then things slowed to one item per week.
Aug 18Reply
missionposhable
missionposhable This happened as my following increased a bit to 2, then 3 k. Not sure if the any correlation between the two -increased followers, reduced sales. I have noticed that what others seem to do, is use other social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to get more eyes on their closets, and draw folks in.
Aug 18Reply
missionposhable
missionposhable To me it seems like that is by design... PM wants folks to use social media to bring folks to the PM platform. I don’t because I don’t use soc. Media ... don’t have the time...but I think that’s how many grow their following to larger numbers.

missionposhable I wish I had a better answer, but I’ve only been doing this since May☺️. I’m still learning too. I’ve decided that my market is ladies like me... they are middle aged and need clothes for work and fitness... And they don’t want to pay the retail $$$. I’ve also decided to look into small towns - places that may not have a good spot for consignment.
Aug 18Reply
missionposhable
missionposhable However, I think things heated up on PM during quarantine. That may occur again. Poshmark now competes with Facebooks marketplace... I think to expand your market, step 1 is identifying people on PM who will like what’s in your closet, following and sharing their closets, and step 2 may be using other social media platforms, to find more of those folks... I hope this helps!! 😊

missionposhable @beaudandy I just thought of something else... share to “parties” At first I didn’t go into them... I thought geez I don’t want to go to a party with people I don’t know and I have no idea what I’m doing 🤣 But then I realized they are just themed sharing sessions! They are buy brand, or clothing type (ie. petites, kids clothes) now I try to share at as many of those as I can. 😬
Aug 18Reply
beaudandy
beaudandy @missionposhable Yeah! I tried to share a ton of things to the party this afternoon. A couple were from my account. Most were just things that looked cool.
Aug 18Reply
missionposhable
missionposhable @beaudandy oh yes, that’s another thing you can do... find similar items to stuff in your closet that are higher priced, then share them with your own (more attractively priced item). This way your followers get to see several shares of similar items, and compare prices. Sneaky huh? 😏

maybellemabelle Hi! yes, all what mission poshable says... welcome to poshmark....I love your puppers, adorable. I've only been active since the pandemic and specialize in vintage stuff, no clothes yet, I never know when something is going to sell, but I do share a lot, and have tried to follow ppl in smaller centres in nearby provinces. I've found once you have a critical mass of followers, which posh automatically gives you depending on how active you are, sharing to both parties and followers helpful

maybellemabelle I've had steady but unpredictable sales, so as long as you're not in a hurry, depends on your perspective of selling on here. listings can sit as long as you want, ppl can find by the search function, sharing gives you exposure to those who are 'window shopping then impulse buying' whereas if someone is looking for something specific they will just search it and see what results come up. the pandemic and winter will make window shopping more popular i think
Aug 21Reply
beaudandy
beaudandy @maybellemabelle Good point. I think window shopping will definitely pick up as people return to nice work clothes and winter clothes. I've set up a few newer listings, so hopefully people see things they like.
