debbsthreads Hi Irene, I purchased Birkenstock’s from you and I’ve been wearing them in the house only. After the 2nd day I noticed the left leather was lifting off the cork but I wasn’t overly concerned. Today the cork is actually crumbling in that spot. The right foot is now showing the same lifting of the leather. Needless to say I’m feeling disappointed. How long ago was this pair purchased? I wear Birks all the time, every single day for the past 6 years. I’ve never had a pair fall apart like this.

debbsthreads I’m going to request a refund and I’ll happily return these shoes to you. I am very familiar with the Birkenstock brand and this pair of Birkenstocks are either very old where they’ve started to dry rot or they’re defective. I wish this wasn’t the case as I love the style and watched them for a long tome before deciding to purchase. I gave you a five star rating upon receiving the shoes as you shipped them quickly.

debbsthreads Certainly I am unable to justify spending $75 plus tax and $12.99 delivery for shoes that show obvious deterioration in a week of wearing them. I hope you’ll assist me in facilitating a refund and return. Thank you. Deb

irene_zy @debbsthreads Hi Deb, I'm sorry to hear that this is happening but at the same time I described the item as is and took as many photos as possible. If I had noticed any issues that would make them unwearable I certainly would not have put them up for sale. They were only worn a couple times after I bought them years ago and when I had the item in hand there didn't appear to be any issues with them.

irene_zy @debbsthreads At the same time I'm not sure on the extent of the issue and I'm certainly no birkenstock expert but it appears that cracking and crumbling of the cork may be a common issue as identified in the link below. http://www.ilovebirkenstocks.com/blog/cracked-cork
