I run an iron over paintings to help extra super set them (I use fabric or acrylic paint anyways which is fairly impossible to get off), and encourage people to re-iron a bit if they're feeling nervous before washing.

I love doing custom orders (and really try to keep the prices reasonable 🙄), so definitely let me know if you've ever got any ideas 😄. I have a glorious little old typewriter than I would type my poems on. For years I'd been trying to figure out what my passion was and what I wanted to do for "work" when I finally realized I loved writing as much as reading.

That's awesome you are writing non-fiction and screenplays! Gah! I give you major credit. My mom wrote about ten screenplays but never was able to get them made into movies. I hope that my thriller will be turned into a movie after I publish it. That would be a dream!

mckitrick @holdrelf we have so many star wars helmets! I pick them up around Halloween time for my kids (😆) at thrift stores. My oldest has been 3 different versions/ crossovers of Boba Fett, Captain Rex, Dart Vader, and variations of Storm Troopers. I even built him a Mark 42 Iron Man suit out of foam. I'm in love with cosplay, living thru my boys lol Check eBay, they come as 2 pieces that you snap together.

I mostly use basic acrylics that I've had since my early art days 👌 I want to try my hand at dyes, and I haven't played with Watercolor yet (though you used some in your clothes art, right?), but I'm going to try printing/heat transferring a watercolor image on clothes soon... so I'll see how that goes! 🙈

firsthandshake @holdrelf I definitely use some regular fabric paint too but the Jaquard paint is more vibrant in color usually which I like. Let me know how the transfer goes! I have experimented with that too a bit too. I've also used some dyes by Setacolor that work really nicely.

firsthandshake I've done some watercolor on shoes but not so much on clothes. The watercolor- looking stuff listed is actually dye. It's a lot more vibrant I've found. Let me know how it goes though and the type of transfer you find works best!

fox_whale @pickled4ever oh yay!! Definitely give it a try - it's such a fun way to spend free time ☺ Yeah, acrylic works great on clothes and is pretty darn permanent! I also use Sharpies and fabric paint - but run a quick iron over sharpie and acrylic images, and it helps to heat set them even more! I haven't seen anything even start to fade yet, so it seems to be working alright ☺

kimjonesthe2nd @holdrelf ah that's so hard to say! I studied abroad in An Cheathru Rua in Ireland and did a bit of traveling there. I absolutely loved it and I would love to go back. But I did a tour of London, Paris and Rome two summers ago and fell hard for Rome and Florence. And in a few weeks I'm heading to Germany, Switzerland and Amsterdam, so maybe I'll have a new favorite! (Personally though I think Ireland will forever have my heart...maybe until I get to Scotland)

Also, The Lies of Locke Lamora (if you like con men... I couldn't resist a group called "The Gentlemen Bastards"), Uprooted, A Discover of Witches, Wool, as well as Peter & the Starcatchers and Goose Girl by Shannon Hale (two of my childhood faves)

modig @holdrelf I read them when I was 10... my mom had this great collection of well written romantic, suspenseful, fantastic novels that I wasn't supposed to touch- my one truly rebellious action as a kid was to grab them up... I don't think I saw sunlight for weeks on end- gone with the wind, Mary Stewart and Anya Seton books etc...loved it all😂😂😂
