I'm a bit nervous sharing personally, but I've seen the massive support from the Loving Posh community, so I wanted to try. I was diagnosed with stage 2 head & neck cancer when I turned 21. But then miracles began in my life through an incredible journey where I found my Faith! I was treated in 10 days at the Mayo Clinic and have been in remission for an entire year! Now I'm home with parents, attending grad school, and get to Posh for fun! Thanks for letting me share with you lovelies💕

cottagegifts So good for you to share. People need to know that cancer isn’t always going to be a death sentence & you’re living proof! I must’ve needed to see this today. I had an endometrial biopsy today. Probably not cancer but you know, that worry is in the back of my mind.

I want you to stick with a positive mindset! 💕 Know that my roommate had a pretty tough time with endometriosis as well and we both came from medical setbacks but finished our sem of college using each other for hope and support. cottagegifts @blondeeyez Thanks! Doc has me on progesterone something for 10 days. I’m going to have an ultrasound & doc said he’d call me with results either way on Monday. Grateful for a doc who has a clue about how scary stuff like this is. ❤️I’m feeling better on the hormone though, more like me. How was your cancer found & how often do you get rechecked?

blondeeyez @pluswear I was misdiagnosed for 6 months. Multiple health professionals told me my Masters in Google wasn't reliable for my concerns & problems. After removing a part of my tongue, they biopsied it finally and delivered those wonderful results over the phone. 😊 Knowing full well I was sick, I finished my final exams for the sem & told docs to have me better in a month so my family's Disney trip wouldn't be canceled on a count of me. 😂 Ya know What? We Went! 😍 lol Wheelchair and all

blondeeyez @pluswear So hear me when I say, whatever it is you're going through, with a hope and positivity you can come out on top. You're only going to be held back by the things you let dictate you. Make sure you don't overdo or over exert (😆 Literally me all the time) and ask for help when you need it. There will always be someone there for you 💕 Know in your heart that you will Always be loved by many and that strength can help you through anything!

cottagegifts @blondeeyez Oh gurrrl You were fortunate it “only” took them 6 months! Sad but true. I’ve had to figure out my own conditions many times & then they were confirmed by docs who then billed MEEEE...are you serious?!? I wanted to say. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & only offered addictive pain pills. After about a dozen specialists, I was pretty sure I had some form of EDS. A geneticist confirmed I have hypermobile joints because my ligaments are too lax.

cottagegifts So I’ve had chronic pain for close to 10 years. I have lots of arthritis but the only pain med I take is time release Tylenol for arthritis. The incomplete dislocations over & over damaged my joints. But I need muscle reconditioning physical therapy again & that will help. I think a huge problem in medicine is that we have specialists who think the part of the body they studied works only on its own.

cottagegifts An orthopedist doesn’t think of the heart & cardiologist doesn’t think about the patient’s back...but those parts affect each other. Docs also don’t have time or take time to talk to other docs unless they are practically forced to. It’s a mess caused by ppl going into specialization so they could pay their college loans off faster. Or so they thought.

blondeeyez @pluswear You make a very valid point! Which is why as one of those fellow specialists (I'm in grad school for Speech therapy SLP 😁) I am making it my mission to educate myself and collaborate with other health disciplines. Actually a lot of ppl don't see much benefit that SLPs can help give even tho we can help a pt swallow and speak after a stroke or complications of dementia (What I want to specialize in 😉)

blondeeyez @pluswear But it is about listening to the pt and thinking outside the box. Making lots of friends with ppl in different fields to help you when you have tough cases to solve 😁 I screamed at my docs to save my tongue because its my entire career on the line and the only thing I've ever wanted to work in. But I like the idea that all the therapies can work together, PT, OT, and ST 😀 we make a great team!
