Hi Rebekah,
Thanks for the message. I still have to educate myself on the site. A friend told me she has good luck with selling some of her high end pieces here. I didn't realize there is "shipping" involved. She also told me that Poshmark keeps a certain percentage. I also don't know how payment is collected...to be honest I don't know anything.
If it's easy enough for you to give me some details...please do so. I will try to set aside some time this week to figure it out. Thank you!

I'm so sorry I missed your message. Heres the Poshmark policy on shipping
"Poshmark provides a flat rate of C$13.49 fee and GST/HST on expedited shipping for all orders. Shipping fees and GST/HST on shipping is paid for by the buyer. The GST/HST rate on shipping is dependent on the buyer’s Province."

My question was about commission fees. I'm unclear on on how the breakdown is for sales over $20. Can you use $100 plus GST as an example?
So if I'm selling something for $100 and my tax rate is 13%...that equals $113.
1 - Who pays the tax?
2 - I keep 80%. So am I taking home $80? Or is the tax deducted from that?
This will make a difference on larger ticketed items.

@rebekah_rico One more thing...it says you can "withdraw your money as cash whenever you like". How does that work?
Someone buys something of mine and Poshmark gets the money...where does my portion go and how do I withdraw it?

@magimes for commissions, they are deducted off the pre-tax selling price. So in your example $100 minus 20% commission =$80 take home for you.
Sometimes a buyer may opt to offer discounted shipping to make an sale more attractive. For instance, reducing it by $3 so the buyer pays $9.99 shipping. You would pay a small amount of tax on the $3.

Money from your sales is kept in a Poshmark Account until you decide to redeem it. Some people will keep the money there so that if they see something on PM that they want to buy, it'll come from that saved up money.
In your account page, scroll down, Select My Balance.
Click on Redeem your balance here.
You'll need to enter your bank details, i find it helps to have a cheque with me so I can get the numbers right.

@magimes tax is paid by the buyer.
the only time you pay tax is if you offer to discount (you pay a portion) of the shipping, in that case, you would pay tax only on the amount of shipping you helped pay

@rebekah_rico Ahhh ok ok...I got it! So I sell for $100. The buyer pays $113. I keep $80. if I discount the shipping I pay tax on the discounted amount.
