@elewis91 how great is that!!! You're right, finding folks that are line families in holiness (Calvary Holiness Church, Enid, MS) is pretty rare! My hubby is sorta mentoring our pastor's son who just became an apprentice. I wasn't sure if you were holiness and some folks get offended if you ask or assume wrong 😳 so I'm GLAD you told me!

@thesmiths1996 oh my word! We love Bro Scotty and Sis Jan! Their house is not far from our church about 10 min so we get to see them quite a bit whenever they are home! I get so excited when they walk thru the doors of the church! They are awesome people and we love them so much! I'm our church's pianist and I love to sing with Bro Scotty! We attend Bro Moore's church in Catlettsburg Ky (basically Ashland but out in the county lol)

Lineman are a pretty close knit bunch they usually always no people who know other people they know lol It takes a strong family lol my husband works for AEP (not sure if you've heard of it, before that he worked for contractors like every other lineman has lol, Mastec, Davis Elliot, he's been around lol) he actually was gone awhile working that hurricane in Florida

@elewis91 I've never met a soul that didn't love them!! They are absolutely the most incredible folks I've ever known. Is so great to meet great people of like faith! If you think of it, just tell Bro Scotty he needs to "put that devil on a Holy Ghost chain" the next time you get to sing with him LOL.. I haven't gotten to talk to them in a long time. It would be so great to see them.

@elewis91 Thankfully my hubby hang had to go out much this year. I'm not sure how he's managed to miss the trips though! He's the baby trouble man in our network so he is usually the one doing all the traveling. He's with Entergy, they actually worked for AEP right in your area a few years back. He said y'all have some beautiful country up there. I'm very proud of the work he does, he's a 3rd generation lineman and never thought he would do that kind of work. I guess it's in his genes.

I Got the "love my lineman" shirts and special license plates on my SUV to prove it lol 😂 my husband is the first in the family to be a lineman but it's always what he wanted to do. It's not just a job to him I'm pretty sure it's in his blood lol he loves what he does! You never know maybe they'll meet on storm one day! My husbands name is Tyler Lewis, contractors know him as "preacher" or "Tex" lol 😂

@elewis91 they pastored us at Trinity holiness in Grenada, MS... It's a long story, but Bro Scotty and Sis Jan could have made a fantastic church there. Anyway, when they decided to go, we did too. We now drive about 35 minutes one way to Enid (it's definitely in the country LOL) and Bro David Uselton is our pastor at Calvary. They have been so good to us, but once you've had Bro Scotty and Sis Jan... Well, I shouldn't compare. 😉

@elewis91 my hubby is Larry Smith, Duck, on the job LOL.... His daddy is goose and he's one of those linemen that people everywhere know and never forget. When we had our son, Larry's senior lineman asked what we're we gonna name him.. We have a goose and a duck, is he gonna be a chicken or a Drake? Sure enough, it stuck LOL, we named him Benjamin Drake and he wants to be a lineman too. Maybe they will meet if they haven't already

Hi!!! I was just checking out your closet again and was reading your, “meet your posher” comments. It’s a small world. I’ve heard Bro. Uselton preach and k ow his daughter in law pretty well, Kendra. Her family has preach for us a lot. They are some of our favorite folks, Bro. Kendall and Sis. Cindy Ward! I’ve been praying for little Tyson. I got a text I want to say Friday (same day my son was put into the hospital) from a sister in our church, said he was sent to children’s hospital.

@thesmiths1996 my son is doing great. He has had no more issues. They have been very thorough in testing to figure out what was going on but to no avail. We still don’t know. My son was born with a few congenital defects, heart being one of them, so when something is going on I don’t play around.

@1johnson_be He had been seeking for so long. He was praying so hard.. LOL... He had his eyes closed and didn't even know who it was that was praying with him until the next morning. Bro Cuevas was right down there in the floor with him, praying and encouraging him on. There was one something that he said to hubby that really helped him get on Thru. We will be ever grateful! Sis Cuevas is such a beautiful woman!! Y'all are blessed! I've heard great things about them.

@thesmiths1996 I did Abeka and ACE when I was in school. I like Abeka because I do a hybrid of video and parent led instruction. I have children in 3rd, 1st and kinder. It's been quite an experience for us this year. I went to a conference prior to choosing curriculum and the vast array of choices was a little overwhelming. Well, not a little...completely overwhelming, lol. The Abeka rep spent about 3 hrs showing me things, so...Abeka it was. Plus they offered everything which was nice.

@lindseygarza I was completely overwhelmed too. I was horrified that i would fail to teach them the basics like reading and writing. After the rep talked with me I gained some confidence but I too use both the video and parent taught methods. It's been God sent!!

@trigby06 oh that’s so awesome! I love meeting other line families in our faith- you don’t see it often! I’m so proud of what my husband does and my little girls are too! They think daddy’s a super hero for turning on peoples lights it’s so sweet! Sometimes being a line wife is tough tho with some of the out of town work and over time I feel like a lot of other wife’s don’t “understand” sometimes so it’s great to meet women just like me! 😉

@trigby06 @thesmiths1996 please keep our family in y’alls prayers! AEP just sent hubby to Puerto Rico to help get the system back up down there. We’re on day 6 of him being gone out of 30. It’s a once in a life time experience (I sent him armed w/ tons of online preaching & church services 😉) but 30 days w/o him is gonna be rough especially for my 2 & 3 year old. We have a lot of support here from our church & family but i know you ladies know what it’s like so I’d be grateful for your prayers!

@elewis91 @trigby06 I certainly understand the line wife life! And agreed, so many people are quick to criticize rather than encourage... But they are also the people that get in a rage when they have a three hour outage 🙄. My hubby works for Entergy and their headquarters are in Louisiana. When Katrina hit, their system was devastated. He was gone 6 weeks at a time, with a two day furlough between stints. But he was still on the same continent at least.

@thesmiths1996 our state actually has lineman license plates that you can upgrade to and the money goes back into a charity for lineman so we have those on all our vehicles they’re actually really pretty I’ll have to post a photo on here one day. I’m wanting the “linewife” window cling for the back hatch on my Tahoe 😉
