Hi! I'm Jamie. I am a Posh Ambassador, top rated seller, top 10% sharer and quick shipper. Iβve been selling online for about 19 years. Feel free to say hi - I love making new friends! π
I'm batting Ehlers Danlos Syndrome - an inherited connective tissue disorder as well as Chiari malformation, dysautonomia, mast cell activation and a few others. Despite all of this, I am still an active seller because I gotta pay those medical bills. π

βΊβΊβΊ I'm still new.. I have a random ??? WHY/WHAT is the purpose of putting SOLD on something but it did not sell here on posh? Wouldn't it be easier to delete the listing? βΊβΊβΊ I have been sharing lately and share those on accident βΊβΊβΊ
Jul 13Reply

spooniesells
@jenlovesbooks I do that because I had something sell elsewhere then the person cancelled the purchase after I had deleted it here. I had to redo the entire listing and then someone on Posh immediately bought it as soon as I reposted it. Itβs basically insurance for me, in case of a problem. It also shows the items that sell for people who are looking for comps or pricing suggestions. π

Dysautonomia Awareness month is October and we are having a fundraising dinner Oct 13. I would like to sell items my closet and donate all of the proceeds towards our goal. All money goes straight to Dysautonomia International, as that is who I am a co chair for. Please pass this on, especially to those with a chronic illness such as Dysautonomia/POTS/EDS. I will happily pass on the donation link if anyone wishes to do that instead. Every dollar counts. Thank you!

Nov 22Reply

maryaconlon
@spooniesells it most certainly is! I haven't been tested for the other co morbidies...sometimes I think I don't want to know. π¬I beat breast cancer 5 years ago then this beast reared its ugly head! Have you been decompressed?
Nov 22Reply

spooniesells
@maryaconlon I havenβt been decompressed. I am putting it off as long as possible.. Iβm just scared it may not work. I had spinal cord release surgery last year which helped with some of the pulling & pressure, but the pressure all came back within 3 months. I get botox for my migraines so thatβs helping as well. Have you been decompressed? Congrats on beating BC! πͺπ»
Nov 22Reply

maryaconlon
@spooniesells I am very intrigued with tethered cord release. I have spoken with several people who said it provided some much needed relief. I was decompressed in March of 2017. I am not 100% better, which as we know is usually the case, but compared to before, I am so much better. My headaches now are what I call a "low roar". The dizziness and nausea is very random now instead of daily. I would do it again in a minute. This is a hard life isn't it? So many hugs and love to you!!π₯π₯ππ
Nov 22Reply

spooniesells
@maryaconlon It was a random finding on an MRI. Two of the areas βbestβ neurosurgeons missed it and were focused on two herniated discs in my lumbar spine. I had lost feeling in my legs, so I sought out an EDS specialist in another state. He spotted it right away & said surgery is the only fix.
Nov 22Reply

spooniesells
@maryaconlon I am really glad to hear that you had great results with your decompression! I love hearing success stories. May I ask who your neurosurgeon is? I believe that a highly skilled surgeon plays a huge role in recovery and healing.
Nov 22Reply

maryaconlon
@spooniesells definitely having a surgeon who truly understands Chiari is key. I have read so many sad stories of people who have found no relief or have gotten worse. I am in California. My surgeons name is Dr. Wesley King. He was the 3rd surgeon I consulted. I also saw 3 neurologists who were absolutely a waste of my time! Are they recommending decompression for you?
Nov 22Reply

spooniesells
@maryaconlon I have too, which is so scary. I am in Pittsburgh, but my NS is in South Carolina. After my experience with him, it will be hard for me to trust anyone else. He was just wonderful. The other thing is that I have instability in my c-spine so that would also have to be addressed. My neurologist said it was ultimately up to me, sheβd support whatever choice I made. π
Nov 22Reply

maryaconlon
@spooniesells it is such a big decision. I was actually glad I was so miserable in the weeks leading up to surgery, because it pushed me forward. I had 3 disks replaced in my c spine before decompression. I was so wanting that replacement surgery to be my "fix" since I still had not found a doctor who understood Chiari. I cannot talk about my neurosurgeon without crying a little. He is my hero.ππ

Mar 26Reply

spooniesells
@colauratura I get migraines as a result of both a TBI & chiari and do Botox. Iβm guessing that may not work for you since youβre already experiencing paralysis? Apr 11Reply

spooniesells
@haladin Yes, all the Spoonies are here! We are all trying to pay our bills! π I have IC, as well. Itβs a pain, but not the biggest one! My MCAD is sometimes under control, you know how it is. I take cromolyn and both H1 & H2 antihistamines daily. I hope yours is under control! Thank you for your kind words. Posh is a lot of work but itβs worth it. Just be patient and success will come to you as well. Feel free to ask questions! π
Apr 11Reply

haladin
@spooniesells Aww thanks love! Ok I will take you up on your offer and ask a question- I was going gangbusters from mid to late March. I wasnβt even doing that many new listings but I was rolling in offers. In April it went off a cliff and the irony is Iβm listing every day! Tax season? Random black hole slump?
Apr 11Reply

haladin
@spooniesells Also my MCAD got a LOT better when I went off all conventional meds (sounds crazy) and went the natural routine. Some probiotics shut down excess histamine production at the source- in the gut. Have you tried this? But it has to be the right probiotic because some βgoodβ bacteria are histamine elevating. But it was a game changer for me!
Apr 11Reply

spooniesells
@haladin Itβs weird, right? Some say followers are the key, others say shares, some say list new items every day. I try to follow, share and list every day. Sometimes sales are consistent and other times, not so much. Thatβs why I said to be patient. π I have to try not to get upset and irritated when sales are slow. When it happens I focus on redoing bad pictures or something else to improve my game.

@lyliabascom Thanks for stopping by! My condition is an inherited connective tissue disorder, so itβs not in the same family. Thanks for sharing the image about what a spoonie is. I have heard this term a lot while following people with chronic illness on social media but never really understood the term! My son has a chronic kidney disease so I can definitely relate it with how he feels on a daily basis. I have just started trying to get serious about selling online for his needs and it is good to see others doing it for similar reasons. π₯° π¦π

@spooniesells Thanks for the shares and I'm a Spoonie just like you! Do you have the Hypermoblie EDS type? Seems those with Hypermoblie EDS end up developing several other disorders that are mainly Comorbid with hEDS.

Hey chica!! Glad to support and meet a fellow spooner here on Poshmark. I have been fighting the unrelenting chronic illnesses of Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia, along with chronic neck pain/bone degradation, hypothyroidism, depression, and anxiety to top it all off. Hope that you are doing the best you can, as most of us are, with all your medical concerns during this dumpster fire year of 2020! β€οΈππΌπ

Fellow spoonie! And I also havenβt been working since end of Feb. (seasonal job) & left my career job as a dental hygienist in March β19 (after 14 yrs), since my health was making the job harder & the job was making my health worse. Iβm terrified of going back with my health issues & being a career w/ highest exposure to COVID. Poshmark is the only way, besides my dadβs help, to get by. Stay Strong Warrior!

Hello! As a fellow spoonie with hEDS, POTS, MCAS, etc. I wanted to say that your business is really inspirational! Seeing people like you succeed helps to quiet some of the anxiety I feel about being able to support myself (and help support a family) financially in the future (Iβm 19 right now). Thanks for being open about some of your struggles!

Saw Spoonie and had to stop by to say HI from a fellow spoonie. Lupus, Fibro and just had thyroidectomy and they found undiagnosed Hashimotos. Sell in your PJ's cause you don't want to use those extra spoons. Medical bills are NO JOKE! Wishing you well. Gentle hugs
