I’m an herbalist, work with animals, and backyard farmer. I love Anything Vintage! My Poshmark goal is to keep fashion out of landfills so I purchase once loved bags, try to restore them and, if not, re-make them. mdmchristian Hi Monica! I hear you’re pretty good at cleaning purses. It was suggested I purchase amodex. Do you let that sit on the stain or brush as soon as you put it on. The stain is in the lining of a coach purse. Thanks for any help you can give.

monicap66 @mdmchristian Hi Melinda! If you can pull the lining out it’s easier is it a leather bag? I just am more careful with monogrammed canvas, don’t want the stain seeping to the other side. Don’t use water first. Put a little Amodex on the dry stain and I use a tooth brush just to work into stain and let it sit overnight. In the morning brush a bit and see if the stain is leaving.

mdmchristian @monicap66 it’s in a coach poppy I pulled the liner out so that’s all good. I will try that and see if they come out. The bottom of the liner either had makeup powder spilled or just dirty. Should I try to clean that with amodex or once I’m done on stains can I try washing it?

monicap66 @mdmchristian yes, you can wash that. You may want to try washing out with dish or laundry soap. I like Zote or fels naptha bar soap. It works good on make up. After it dries and you feel it needs more you can use Amodex. I save my Amodex for hard core stains.

monicap66 @mdmchristian I’m so sorry! I miss so many people especially this time of year. I love to create and after years of buying project bags from Dutsville I’ve learned a lot. I failed a lot too! Always practice on bags you don’t care much about, I learned the hard way. Thank you for your kind words! Dutsville is a lovely place with lovely people! It’s the best addiction!
