akemi_fashion @mahoganycharm Hey Tina!! Thank you. That skirt is a couture piece from a designer by the name Gary Harvey. He used 41 pairs of Levi's 401 jeans. I will make an attempt in the upcoming months to recreate this. Still collecting my pants. Unfortunately, I have not worn that size since I hit 35.

elizmul AWESOME to meet you Shena!! My 17yr old eats, sleeps and breaths Softball!! Her High School team here in Georgia just WON State this year and got presented with their State Rings this past Monday night...she is a Senior this year...gotta LOVE the hearts of our athletic kids!! Having something like that to focus on keeps them out of trouble! LOL...Your family and YOU are BEAUTIFUL! I can relate to your love of GOD, FAMILY and FASHION girlfriend...I'm the SAME WAY!! (hugs)

First things first thank you so much for the compliments and blessings. It is truly and greatly appreciated. Kudos to you Mama!! you did it...You have a scholar athlete who is about to embark upon one of many pivotal moments in her life. I hope she is playing one of my old positions (Centerfield as a freshman, Shortstop the remaining three years)😜 Being an athlete, especially an honored athlete, makes your more prepared to deal with real life. The coaches at Fordham told my daughter "this is a job..we pay you $63K for you to go to school and play volleyball." Nothing but blessings for her in all her future endeavors and you & the family for the journey.

elizmul My daughter Monica is actually a utility player...she can play every position but pitch...LOL...but her favorite position is Left & Center Field. She is known for her bat though...she hit about 36 homeruns this past 2 years...14 her Freshman year and hit a 3 run homerunner at State this year that sealed the deal for the State win!! She got offered about 3 different scholarships that day from University Coaches who were there watching. Unfortunately she has NO DESIRE to play College ball and it is killing my husband and I. She wants to just concentrate on her studies...which she does struggle with at times. I'm just praying she never gives up her love for the game and her talent. We have basically been watching her play since she was 7...it's hard knowing she won't be playing for college. Does your daughter have any desire to play in College? Did you play in College too?

If she really reluctant about her studies and any challenges she may face have her reach back out to the schools who are fully funded and ask what is their study table system and what resources do they have in place for their student athlete. A lot of these D1 schools have times in which their players must go into the library and will even place them with peer tutors (Members of NHS) to assist them. I always say the keep to getting overwhelmed is dealing with it in the beginning. The money for tuition these days are astronomical. Elyssa is looking on the West Coast (Stanford, UC Berkeley, Southern Cal), but I also told her to keep her options open. She is looking at schools that have a good Engineering 3+2 Program. My niece is a Bio major at Villanova and she said she wish she continued playing tennis in college merely for finances. She is a 19 year old junior and she said that is one think she wish she had did different as she see the resources available to the athletes. Two nephews play football for Northwestern University and they are both full rides. The junior is majoring in Business & Business law the Junior is looking at Biology. Both have made deans list since they been there. I went to a basketball high school where we all got scholarships. And we are all grateful for the opportunities in which it provided us. I was a rebel I wasn't playing any sports in college. My father paid for me to go to Rutgers and I seriously wish I had taken the scholarships and used his money to buy a condo when I graduated at 22. But I have friends who didn't go to high school with me and are still paying student loans from undergrad 15+ later. Not interested in that at all. But as long as Monica is happy that is all that counts.

elizmul @akemi_fashion...Great advice girl!! She's being like you were a "rebel"...LOL...and determined not to play...her stubborn side (comes from her father...WINK WINK) is coming out in this!! What great accomplishments girl!! ♡ Proud of you and your kids sound like they have great heads on them. ♡ We have 3 daughters...funny how each one is different! Our oldest is a "Soldier of the Year" recipient and has been to Washington a couple times for this honor...she has made an amazing career for herself in the Army. Our middle daughter is sooooo smart it's scary! Has 2 degrees...just turned 25 and now working on her Doctorates in history. She didnt go to "High School" she was involved in the Gifted and Talented program back home and attended College instead. She wants to teach history on a College level. Our baby, Monica, like I said is our athlete...still trying to figure things out...LOL...and is quite happy right now getting by without studing...happy with a "C" cause it didn't take any effort. Ugh...LOL! I know she will find her way and figure it out eventually but it does drive me CRAZY fo' sho'!! ;)

The eldest is so brave and I would love to thank her for all her years thus far as well as in the future. Great success for her as she climb the ladders in the service🇺🇸 There is nothing wrong with being smart and the middle angel has totally embraced it. Kudos to her but again kudos to you guys for being supportive understanding parents. May G_D constantly watch over you all. I still want Monica to take that scholarship as I believe when you get out of school you should be able to live life without worry about $XX in debt if that is to be the case. Told Elyssa get the scholarship and the money I originally set aside for her to use as a down payment for a condo or starter home. The car we give her she should drive it until she has made enough to upgrade (payments should she choose) using the car as down payment as it is not smart to put too much cash down on vehicles due to their depreciation value. Travel with your high school & college friends, make memories, and live life like there is no tomorrow responsibly. Open yourself to opportunities because they are just like windows. Once they are closed rarely do they present themselves again. Tell my parents all the time wish they had told me that, but I understand that they did not know the system as I was the first one to attend school in the US.

brendasued I was a setter and back row and could serve on a dime. I was recruited by 4 big ten and 2 colleges . I chose a college close to home at that time. If I were do it all again. I would have chose Penn State university or University of Wisconsin:) I was young and very much innocent to the world at that time. Volleyball is something she can take with her and play for a long time ;) I played up and down Lake Michigan on a beach VB team and my dream was to play in Cali on the pro am team:) but life happens :) tell her to stay strong .. Try outs are brutal and college level is a different animal., broke my nose once :) 1 concussion:) due to spikes missed by blockers :) lol she may have the advantage:) lol reach high and stay square to the force :)

She is a middle hitter and she is looking to go on the West Coast (Cali to be exact) I however am looking at all fully funded programs for that meter. She is 5'7" with a 7'1" reach and a 9'2" vertical so prayerfully it will all work out. Just making sure they have strong engineering & business programs!!

brendasued Hey the USA Olympic team had a 5'5" hitter :) no dream too big!!! Lots of weight training and vertical jump will help:) all around is best and be prepared for back row and tighten up those serves :) never stop never let it hit the ground!!
