Melba Tea Cup and Saucer by Mayer and Sherratt

This is a tea cup & saucer set made by Mayer & Sherratt in Staffordshire, England, who used the trade name "Melba." They operated between 1906 and 1941 and may have reopened briefly after WWII as Melba China Ltd, closing down again in 1951 or 52. The pair are decorated with pink, orange and blue flowers and are in exquisite shape for their age with no chips, cracks or crazing. The saucer is 5 3/4" wide while the cup has a mouth of 3 1/4" while standing 2 1/2" tall.`
