A vintage cloth scroll and its case made by the Imperial Art College in Calcutta (now Kolkata) between 1967 and 1969 when Gobinda Chandra Dey was mayor of the city. According to google the writing is in Bengali and celebrates the municipal government's Eastern Prosperity zone. There are Hindu symbols on the scroll and please do note that the symbol on the lower left of the picture is a Hindu rather than a political symbol. The case the scroll is in is 11" long, 4" deep and 1 5/8" high. The scroll is 9 1/4" tall and 9 3/4" in width.
