Each coin is in the plastic protective case to preserve the coin from scratches, oxygen etc.These coins are legal tender of Canada but why not keep them so they appreciate in value more. This is a great gift. - Each coin contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper alloy. - The $5 coins are 38 mm in diameter with a fine silver content of .72 Troy oz. - The $10 coins are 45 mm in diameter with a fine silver content of 1.44 Troy oz. Coin #25, $10 is of the Olympic Stadium Coin #26, $5 is of the Olympic Village Coin #27, $10 is of the Olympic Velodrome Coin #28, $5 is of the Olympic Flame The opening ceremonies were held on July 17, 1976. These are from the Series VII Canadian Olympic Coins, designed by Morrison, Stewart & Morrison, Toronto, Canada. These coins have been stored closed in the case since 1976 :) and from a smoke/pet free home.
