Moon Goddess. Solid bronze Kalevala Koru pendant necklace made in Finland.

This gorgeous solid bronze pendant necklace from Kalevala Koru depicting the Moon Goddess, or Kuutar as it's called in Finnish, was designed in the 1940's by Germund Paaer, and has been in production ever since. The pendant was made in the 1980's and is marked "Made in Finland" and "KK." The Kalevala collection is insiped by archeological findings in Finland from the 9th century to the 12th century and the Viking era. The spiral motifs on the pendant depict the Circle of Life, and the little tinkling charms cast out evil spirits. This classic and iconic of all Kalevala pendants was inspired by Viking age jewelry. It's truly a masterpiece and a must-have piece of jewelry if you love Viking history.
