They will enhance the beauty of your home environment so it is worth to be left outside rather than hidden in a cupboard. Pair was given to me in the early 2000. Never used them. The pepper mill can be also used for spices. Each piece from this maker has unique striped wood design in rich colors. Crafted from durable wood with a vibrant, multicolored design, the pair showcases unique layers that will be a conversation piece at any table. Although salt & pepper are not perishables, I emptied them before listing because I assumed they would have lost “piquant” or “gained” unwanted flavours after all those years. Did not wash the containers. Would suggest that you fill them w/fresh salt & pepper if you give them as gift. There are several kinds of different salts peppers on the market from all over the world.
