Superb hat from Mr. John Jr. that will liven up your outfits! Crafted from a matte black taffeta-like fabric with a bit of a luster, it features a flat crown, an asymmetrical brim, folded detail on brim and finished off with a wide black fringed grosgrain band across the top of the brim. No size markings. Approx measurements: Inner circumference 21" Height 6" In very good vintage condition. Mr. John, one of America's great milliners, was known for his classic shapes, working under his own label from the late 1940s until the 1970s. His panache for creating elegant pieces earned him favour among the early Hollywood greats such as Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo and Vivian Leigh, as well as piqued the interest of royalty when the Duchess of Windsor became a repeat client.
