That's a beautiful piece! a glass pendant with a teardrop or asymmetrical shape.
The pendant exhibits characteristics commonly found in Murano glass, a type of glass from Venice, Italy.
It has a smooth, polished, organic, and slightly elongated teardrop shape with a hole near the top for a cord or chain.
The upper portion is made of milky white or opaline glass, which is often achieved by adding ingredients such as bone ash or fluorite to the glass mixture.
Aventurina: The most striking feature is the dark bottom section speckled with shimmering gold flecks. This effect is achieved using Aventurina glass, a specific Murano technique. Aventurina is glass that contains small, metallic copper crystals that catch the light and create a dazzling, sparkly effect.
Murrina/Inclusion: There's also a reddish-brown, often rectangular, inclusion near the bottom. This could be a fragment of murrina (pre-cut patterned glass cane) or another colored material embedded within the glass layers.
This is likely a modern piece of Murano Venetian glass. The inclusion of Aventurina is a strong indicator of this tradition.
2 x 1 1/2 inches approx.
