NEW vintage cocktail ring Opal Twig Branch
UNIQUE design: Emulating the organic twig branch trend of today from the Art Nouveau era of the past…but in a much grander way like the cocktail rings of the 1970s-1980s.
Three branches on each side of the band “grow” and entwine together around three white opals and four tiny “diamonds”. At least 29 claws or twigs “grow” upwards mostly to hold the gems in place. Plus many more branch off on the band.
Beautiful texture on the band (3-5 mm wide, +1 mm thick) and twigs. The MANY “twiglets” can be up to 1.5 mm thick and 3 mm long. In many ways, when you view the top from the side, they remind me of a coral reef.
NEW. C. 1970s-1980s. Hallmarks: “? GOLD PLATED ?” “?KARATCLAD PROCESS ?”. Please see pictures. I’m not sure if these white opals are natural or synthetic.
This ring’s leftmost Opal on the left seems to have a tiny mark or chip that reflects like a mark in photos. All three opals appear equally less opaque.
Opal is October’s birthstone according to some charts. The organic twig-branch band has been used as engagement or wedding rings and in reference to forest elves (as in Tolkien and folklore).
