The blue is like a nice denim blue that gradually fades deeper and darker to black toward the ends of the scarf. Because there are varying gradients of blue, I think it would work as an over scarf for a dark navy gown. I've tested pairing this with a dark navy coat I have, and it actually works quite nicely. Hope this helps!
