I am Welsh and bought this ‘back home’ in Wales, but I have another gifted to me by my grandmother so have never reached for this one.
Melin Tregwynt (Melin = mill in Welsh ) Carthen throw in Granite, which has grey but also caramel, ivory and deep green.
Throw size is about 50 x 70 inches
Melin Tregwynt, a small whitewashed woollen mill, can be found in a remote wooded valley on the Pembrokeshire coast. It’s currently run by the third generation of the Griffiths family. Henry Griffiths bought the Pembrokeshire mill in 1912 when there were 250 woollen mills in Wales. By 2022 there were fewer than 10 mills left.
There has been a mill on this site since the 17th century, when local farmers would bring their fleeces to be spun into yarn and woven into sturdy Welsh wool blankets.
The mill is renowned for its Welsh woollen blankets and throws and Welsh woollen cushions, together with upholstery, simple stylish clothing, accessories and bags.
