Native American Navajo Horsehair Pottery with Turquoise Stone Adornment
Each piece of horsehair pottery is unique and one of a kind.
A Raku style pottery where horsehair is applied to very hot pottery which burns into the clay leaving behind lines and smoke patterns unique to each piece.
This cream clay vase is etched with
various shapes and is also adorned with a piece of turquoise stone.
Signed by the artist on the bottom Gerie Vail
Measures approximately 5” diameter at widest x 3 1/4” high
Hole opening is 2 1/4” diameter
Some small surface imperfections where the glaze is missing, as shown.
