Wax figurine created in Sylvette Chanel's Montreal workshop. Here, a Jesus in sun-bleached beeswax. The artisan is the first laywoman to perpetuate this know-how of which the French Canadian nuns of the convents and cloisters were the only custodians. Here we preserve a tradition that goes back to the beginning of the French colony. The baby Jesus is 15 cm long. His position is said to be traditional. Everything is done by hand: molded wax, clothing, hair application, face makeup and cradle covered with sand.
