New vintage HUGE Smoky Topaz Cocktail ring Gorgeous! In the light, the many subtle facets underneath plus the smooth surface of the cabochon look like liquid volcanic glass! Minimalist art deco-art nouveau nods like: - raised 4-part gallery (setting, struts that attach to third halo, teardrop supports that connect third halo to band), - four teardrop + 1 crossbar underneath look like a flower. 20x15 mm cabochon, 22x18 mm setting (first & second halo, 2 mm deep) 6 mm deep gallery (from band to setting): teardrop supports (c. 9x1.5 mm), third halo (1 mm thick) 3x1 mm band NEW. Vintage c. 1970s-1980s. I tried it on but it is Never Worn. I thought it was tarnished in two spots (red circles) so I used a little toothpaste and vinegar. 🪥 The top is still light grey and the side is a darker grey. Visible hallmark: “NIC COP?”. Made in Korea. I’m not sure if it’s a natural or synthetic gem. I’m certain that this is not pure gold. But I believe it is a good gold plate. I didn’t ask that many questions back then but I bought a range of smoky topaz cocktail rings and jewellery from gold plate to silver to 14 KT gold.
