New vintage Lace Puritan / Tie / Sailor collar You can tie, pin, sew this collar in place. Front centred or to the side. New, never worn, vintage c. 1980s. Handmade Tatting lace and hand embroidered. Original tags still on: 100% cotton. Made in China. Real Hand Made, 100% Cotton, Made in China. Freshly steamed. 21.5x22” flat max. 6” flat neckline, Trad: collar style front Bib: wear the bib in front Sailor: back square shape Lace collars: “Front” & “Reverse”: refer to the finished side vs. the side where you can see the “needlework”. Otherwise, there is no real “front” and “back”. Wear the collar any way you want: It depends on the neckline, the item worn with, and you. Prints, solids, darks, lights, summer, winter, tops, dresses, Victorian, modern, bohemian, Wednesday Addams. This collar has a tie but you can also tack it with a few stitches for a more secure hold. You can also wear it tucked under a shirt collar or a piece of jewellery. Lots of brands sew a lace collar directly onto dresses, blouses, sweaters, and cardigans! It can be worn as is or embellished with ribbons, beading, hand drawn art, colour touch ups to the embroidery, etc. Care: Steaming is easiest. Handwash in cold to warm water. Lay flat and shape. Iron while damp (with a white cotton cloth between). Note: this was once WHITE. It’s creamier than the other. Washing & bleaching will brighten this up. Brown spot on tie end. Yellowing on side.
