New vintage Lace Trad / Bib collar I’ve seen this style a few times in movies worn with traditional or Easter dresses and 1950s-1960s cardigans. New, never worn, vintage c. 1980s. Handmade Bobbin lace and hand embroidered. Original tag still on: 100% cotton. Made in China. Freshly steamed. 16x15” flat max. 6” flat neckline. Trad: collar style front Bib: wear the bib in front Lace collars: “Front” and “Reverse”: refers to the finished side vs. the side where you can see the “needlework”. Otherwise, there is no real “front” and “back”. Wear the collar any way you want: It depends on the neckline, the item worn with, and you. Prints, solids, darks, lights, summer, winter, tops, dresses, Victorian, modern, bohemian, Wednesday Addams. This collar has a button but you can also tack it with a few stitches for a more secure hold. You can also wear it tucked under a shirt collar or a piece of jewellery. Lots of brands sew a lace collar directly onto dresses, blouses, sweaters, and cardigans! It can be worn as is or embellished with ribbons, beading, hand drawn art, colour touch ups to the embroidery, etc. Care: Steaming is the easiest. If necessary, handwash in cold to warm water. Lay flat and shape. Iron while damp (with a white cotton cloth between). Careful when bleaching. Note: this was once WHITE. It is now off white. Washing and bleaching will brighten this up.
