New vintage silver abalone flower ring Beautiful rustic modern silver craftsmanship Six dainty filigree curlicues look like a flower framing the abalone cabochon. Particularly pretty abalone with 6 concentric ovals that fit into the shape of the cabochon! Moving the ring, see Pearlescent colours: silvery grey, aqua blue and green, and a tiny hint of pink. Simple band transitions into a double band before it splits and welds under the setting. 2 mm high frame holding the abalone. 9x14 mm flower 3x9 mm abalone New vintage c. 1970s. Probably handmade / finished in Mexico. Genuine silver. Hallmark: “925” + “TP-50” (I think that’s what it says). Genuine abalone shell. These were black and I polished them with a little toothpaste and warm water. I don’t know if that’s patina or oxidation but there are slight touches of darker and yellow spots. They all have a dot on the rear outside band and a seam on the rear inside band. I think it’s part of the creation. (Dot where it sat to cool?) To me, it just makes it more authentic and rustic: you can see the work that went into it! 👍
