New vintage sterling 925 silver hammered dome cocktail ring alpha Simple shape, beautiful workmanship, minimalist style. Rustic micro hammering, probably by hand. It’s easy to see on the inside but just barely visible on the outside. It’s supposed to be Polished and shiny (see last two pictures of sold versions). But this one tarnished a bit in storage. I polished it with toothpaste but it’s still a bit rustic looking. 😀 I found that with REAL SILVER, the more you wear it, the better it looks: shinier, less black. I think it’s just from being in contact with your body, water, soap, rubbing. The more it is in storage, unless there’s a special coating, it starts to tarnish. Just like those old fashioned silver spoons polished by butlers in British historical dramas. I guess they miss us and need to be used! 😀👍🤭 Concave dome is about 1 cm deep. Width is about 18 mm. Band is +2 mm at narrowest. Size TO BE MEASURED New vintage c. 1970s. By Artistic Jewellery Canada (Alpha brand). Probably casted and handmade (hammered, polished, finished). Hallmarks: “ALPHA” on one side, very clear. “STERLING 925” on other side, not very clear. I posted the sold version’s pictures which are much clearer! Note: there are two pits or dimples on either side of the ring. I’m not sure if that’s from the creation (I’m imagining like tongs) or in the finishing.
